Most giant crocodile news stories are gross over-exaggerations or media hype, but this one is undoubtedly a large crocodile. Is it really as big as they say though? I'd like to see the actual measurement of course.

In the photo that is circulating everywhere it looks like it must be close. If that guy is between 5 to 6 feet tall, its reasonable to think his armspan is over 5 feet, and it would appear that from his left hand to the tip of the nose might be another armspan's length although the nose is covered in canvas. So if its two armspans from the nose to the back leg, and the tail is at least half the body length, it seems reasonable that it would be at least pretty close to the claim, right?
